The right fit candidate will monitor and supervise all Health and Safety procedures and reporting including:

Participates in and documents the investigation of all injuries and incidents.

Implements and monitors recommendations for prevention and evaluates their effectiveness and

Actively participates in the regular inspection of both the working environment and safe work practices.

Ensures the facility and equipment is maintained at a safe level and within industry standards.

Trains, evaluates and documents the competency of employees to safely perform any duties, operate any tools, equipment or machinery assigned to them.

Establishes return to work programs that offer short term accommodations based on the employee’s physical limitations.

Promotes safe work practices, good housekeeping and adherence to company safety policies, procedures and rules.

Is a member of the OH&S Committee and plays a leadership role in all safety meetings

Presents toolbox and training sessions to promote safe working practices and communicate changes or modifications to established safe work procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervises all shop and CAD/CAM Programming employees.

Monitors the performance of all employees in accordance with established standards, including coffee breaks, lunch times, starting times, etc.

Ensures that company service levels are met.

Communicates with the Sales Department on all aspects: workload, inbound, breakdowns, unclear work orders, etc.

Expedites all orders in coordination with sales and shipping.

Assures that all machinery and equipment is properly and effectively used.

Participates in the selection, training, development and appraisal of all warehouse employees.

Practices solid motivational skills such as complimenting subordinates for jobs or performances well done.

 

Tracks employees' performance and keeps records of such.

Adheres to company policy and terms of the Collective Agreement.

Recommends changes to the Collective Agreement prior to negotiations.

Processes first step grievance reports, in consultation with the Branch Manager

Recommends a work force adequate to meet operating needs.

Authorizes and/or approves expenditures for shop supplies and small tools.

Controls and assists in the direct and indirect costs and overhead expenditures pertaining to warehousing and production activities.

Recommends changes in inventory storage, production layout, systems, etc.

Leader in quality assurance and leads investigations of non conformances and suggests opportunities for improvements.
